Check why the Check Engine Light is on

The OBDCheck BLE helps you read the error codes causing the check engine light to come on. You may then find out what the possible causes are and fix simple problems by yourself and reset the light, potentially saving you a trip to a garage and hundreds of dollars. When you need to bring your car to a mechanic, it also gives you a peace of mind.

Compatible with iOS & Android

The OBDCheck BLE features dual-mode Bluetooth to work with iOS devices (iPhone or iPad) at Bluetooth LE mode, and Android devices at Classic mode. It is better than WiFi versions with much lower power consumption while allowing you to have access to internet for other apps via your cellular data.

Note:

1. For iOS devices, do not connect in Bluetooth Settings. Please contact in the OBD app.

2. For Android, it may not show as connected after pairing. You do not need to tap on it to connect again. Just start the App to proceed. Some Android head units are not compatible.

Have trouble connecting to your phone?

(1) For iPhone, remember NOT to connect VEEPEAK from the Bluetooth Settings. As it uses Bluetooth LE, pairing is not needed and instead it will lead to an error. You just start the app to connect and the Bluetooth connection will be made through the app.

- What if I have tried to pair and VEEPEAK no longer shows up?

Please restart your iPhone and VEEPEAK will show up again.

(2) If it does not pair with Android phones, try the following:

- Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. Try pairing a few more times.

- Restart your phone. Turn off WiFi. Disconnect any other Bluetooth devices from your phone and try again.

- Clear Bluetooth cache.

(3) Pairs with Android phone but does not show "Connected".

If VEEPEAK only shows as saved, paired or previously connected after pairing, don’t worry, normally it’s connected. You just start the app to connect.

Common FAQs

1. Is there an App included with the item?

No. You have to get a compatible third-party App from the App Store or Google Play Store (some may NOT be free).

2. Why do I have to pay for some features?

What features you can get mainly depends on your chosen App. Some Apps may be free to download, but some features require subscription or purchase. It's up to the App developers.

3. Does it read transmission temperature?

The transmission (fluid) temperature is a manufacturer specific PID so it’s not read by most generic OBD2 Apps. Please contact support for App recommendation or search for the custom PID information & add it in the App.

4. Does it work on electric vehicles?

It can work on most EVs, but it requires a proper App, for example Car Scanner (with the appropriate EV connection profiles), ABRP, EVNotify, LeafSpy, EV Watchdog, etc.

5. Does it read trouble codes in ABS or airbag?

These systems are based on the manufacturer's proprietary protocols and generic OBD Apps won't read them. It depends on if there is a capable App for your vehicle.

6. The trouble codes could be erased.

Please refer to the manufacturer's procedure/requirements for clearing trouble codes. Also some DTCs require the car fault(s) to be fixed before they can be erased.
